Special Ehomaki Rolls
Azekura’s seasonal Ehomaki features two handcrafted rolls — the classic Fukuju Ehomaki and the limited Kiwami Ehomaki — both created to mark Setsubun with care and precision.
The Fukuju Ehomaki presents a balanced expression of sushi craftsmanship, combining prawn, domestic eel, egg, cucumber, and oboro wrapped in gently sweet Kansai-style sushi rice. It features premium ingredients including simmered wagyu shigure-ni and domestic eel layered with Kansai-style rice for a richer, more refined finish.
Thoughtfully prepared and rooted in seasonal tradition, Azekura’s Ehomaki reflects the spirit of Japanese cuisine and is enjoyed by guests seeking some of the best food in Nara during Setsubun.
Guests are encouraged to enjoy these rolls facing south-southeast, the year’s auspicious direction, as part of this long-standing custom celebrating good fortune.
